Am I a fuddy duddy?

This doesn’t seem right.

I get that some kids need this for medical reasons, and certainly there are times when they’re going to have a celebratory huge feast, but the implication that “Hey it’s OK if you just feed your kids junk” doesn’t sit well with me. The “extra” calcium isn’t going to make up for a crap diet.

Or is it just me being cranky?

I thought the point of kids was that they could eat anything? It’s us old farts that get heartburn.

I saw this ad yesterday and was like WTF?! I get that on their birthday and maybe holidays they’ll eat crap but seriously is there a market for this kind of product?

No, you’re not! This is crazy madness! I’m sure not buying that stuff for my kiddos… and I HOPE they don’t need it! Maybe it’s just all those medicinal companies trying to find new ways to get parents to spend their money since they’re having to pull all the infant cold medicines… just a thought.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. Why not a sip of 7-up or sprite? Oh, hell. Why not limit the amount of crap you let your kids eat? There’s a novel thought.

Do I sense an effort to get our kids “hooked” on the marketing of drugs and meds, early? Hey, look kids, it’s gor a cute cartoon character on it — it must be good for you! UGH!

Seems a little excessive to me!

I’m with you…. that is ridiculous. As bad as some of the commercials I’ve seen that make it seem OK that kids are racking up such high cell phone bills that the mom has to go out and get a second job dressed up as a taco. How about “You go over your minutes, you pay the difference out of your allowance.” Now, admittedly, I don’t have teenagers, but I’m guessing they will learn to control themselves if they actually have a stake in the results of their actions.

ok, this has me cracking up! lol! I just cannot help laughing at this… ok, seriously, ummm tums for kids???

Yeah, you’re cranky. But you’re correct, too. We’ll call it correct cranky condition.

I can’t beileve they advertise this tyle of glutunous behavior. Our society is facing obesity in kids as well as other issues based on poor diet. Everything in moderation. Thsy is just overkill.

Oh no! That is wrong on so many levels!!

That is some creepy advertising right there.

You’re not a fuddy duddy (although that’s fun to say), that ad is messed up. Someone wasn’t paying attention.

If you’re a fuddy duddy, then so am I. That is some seriously disturbing advertising. I’m originally from California (Bay Area). I love Northern California!

That is just wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.

Man, does this push some buttons for me! I fight constantly to give my kids a healthy diet and fight against the widely perceived “right” to have candy on a daily basis! Kids needing Tums is a huge symptom of bad things wrong in the American diet. What happened to identifiable, simple food, like meat, vegetables, fruit and milk? Besides “oodles of calcium” seems just as out of balance as an overdose of any other mineral or vitamin. Guess I’m a fuddy-duddy to :)

Ok, why is it in kid packaging? I thought TUMS was pretty much harmless – I’ve even given my kid one when I was in the middle of a heartburn attack. I mean to have anu side effects from TUMS you would have to eat the whole bottle in one sitting.

I guess what bothers me is that this is marketted to kids. Not that it is TUMS.

I read the ad as saying that kids shouldn’t be eating junk like what’s pictured. It is basically “Your kid is imagining this stuff, it is not good for his stomach, but if you are an idiot who feeds his or her child this much ice cream, you should consider some Tums for you kid because they are going to experience gastro-intestinal distress in addition to a sugar high that will make you want to drop them off at your mother-in-law’s house forever.”

Basically, the opposite of what everyone else above said.

I also saw this and had a WTF reaction. Same magazine runs ads for those “yogurty covered fruit-flavored bits”, so maybe it is a twofer.

Oh, that is just wrong. So very wrong.

If my kids ate this, I’d never hear the end of their wailing! Tums or not, my kids are not eating junk like this! LOL!
