Are you doing South Beach and gagging on that foul vegetable (V8) juice? To the rescue!

So I’ve already posted about a way to make the nasty South Beach Diet Phase One ricotta “dessert” actually delicious, and now I’m moving on to the V8 juice. Just seeing it in the store makes me queasy, so I didn’t think I was going to be able to follow through on this part of the plan.

However, Mr. Plain wasn’t going to give up that easily. He looked around and found a few alternative veggie juices for us (OK, me) to taste-test. And with a little doctoring, we have a winner!

R.W. Knudsen Very Veggie Spicy with a squeeze of lime!

I promise you that fruit in the photo is really a lime even though it looks like a lemon… (I’m no Kalyn when it comes to food photography.)

This drink is actually good. Something I would drink on purpose. Of course, it would be even better with a shot of vodka, but I don’t think that’s in any South Beach phase.

nicepants.jpgOh yeah, “What’s up with the arty photo of your jeans?” you say? HA — they’re a size smaller than the I-will-NEVER-buy-pants-larger-than-this ones I wore in January. Whoo hoo!

Way to go!! I’ve got to hop back on the low-carb express. I fell off last month and can’t find seem to find my ticket for the next train.

Good job on losing 16 pounds so far! I’m down about 3 I think. This is our 3rd week of South Beach and I haven’t drank one sip of V8. I’ve been drinking water for the most part and one small tomato juice a day, which my husband equates to drinking pasta sauce.

Hooray on the smaller size jeans, and thanks for the food photography compliment. I’m not expert, but I’m getting better.

Thank you, thank you, thank you…(times 100). I have been chugging the original stuff down for weeks now…but that only works for so long. I seemed to be slowing down a bit and I despise it. I can’t wait to go home and try your recipe!! Thank you again!
