Charlie (4.5) and I were alone tonight way past bedtime waiting for Craig to bring big brothers Ed and Henry home from a movie party. I asked Charlie if he missed his brothers, and he said “Yeah.”

Me: “I don’t have any brothers. What’s it like?”

Charlie: [Pause.] “It’s like… being really happy.”

Me: “What else is it like?”

Charlie: “That’s it. Just happy.”

Aww, how sweet! I don’t think either of my boys would describe having a brother as “happy”. LOL

Awww, that is just so sweet.

I was the oldest of ten kids (did you know that!) and I didn’t enjoy my brothers much as a kid, but as an adult they’ve been great to me.

I have a brother and at 4 yo I doubt I ever would have described it as happy. We fought like cats and dogs.

That is so ridiculously sweet that he loves his brothers that much. :)

That’s just about the sweetest ever. I love siblings.

I don’t have any brothers either and that is exactly how I imagined it would be. What a sweetie he is! You must be very proud of him and his very big heart.

Aww your son is really adorable. I have 2 brothers as well, but i doubt very strongly that at the age of 4 th i would have defined it, as he did. He must be a jewel. It is nice to read about such a happy and loving family.

God Bless!

Wow, now I miss my brother.

Especially, since we’re twins, I don’t have any sisters and he’s married now with a wife he likes better.

But, there’s still a lot of love there and, yeah, Charlie said it best…it’s like, being happy…all the time.

We have four boys. Just last night my oldest came down and said, “We were just all hanging out on my bed playing DS…mom, it was so fun!” I love brothers!

Clearly, you are doing something right. I can see your future now. You’ll be blogging with your grown sons, just as I do with my grown girls. Enjoy the getting there!
