From PlainJaneMom.com

Hey folks. Many of you probably don’t know about my other blog, Try Handmade. And that’s cool because that blog and this one have different audiences. But I’ve just started offering ads over there and I thought I’d offer a special deal to those of you who suffer through reading Plain Jane Mom.

Do you have a business? Do you make jewelry, soap, candles, needlecraft, photographs, furniture, web sites, business cards, clothing, sweaters, books, elephant booties, boob cozies, clocks, raincoats … you get the drift.

Consider advertising over on TryHandmade and just for you, my lovely readers, I’ll give you $5 off if you sign up for the recurring or one month ad. Just stick a note in the PayPal invoice that tells me you heard about this on Plain Jane Mom and I’ll refund your $5. Easy peasy.

I figure this probably doesn’t apply to more than 10% of you out there, but I just thought I’d take a chance that someone is looking to get their site in front of more eyeballs in time for holiday shopping.

OK, enough infomercial. Back to your regularly scheduled mommy blogging. (Is this where I call for a march on Motrin headquarters? Not sure exactly how this works…)

Chicago!

But unlike 2 years ago, the conference will be all in one venue. No more shuttles, wasting time walking for blocks to get to events. Everything will be happening at the Chicago Sheraton & Towers.

Read the announcement post to hear why it isn’t happening in any of the cities people voted for. The short version is that logistically it just couldn’t work out.

The most interesting part to me is that the BlogHer Business conference will be July 23, and the regular BlogHer conference will be July 24-25. This is great news for me as I’ve always considered going to BlogHer Business, but I couldn’t justify the added expense. Now that they’re combined, I really have almost no reason not to go. Smart move.

See you there July 23 -25, 2009 :)

I try not to get caught up. I try not to think he’s going to be the one to solve many of our problems. I try to remember that he too is a politician, and what have they done for us lately.

But it’s really hard to keep it up. I do believe in him. I do think he’s going to solve problems and help people.

I do feel that “This is our moment. This is our time.”

So. OK, Obama. Show me you’re not like the others. Let’s see what you’ve got.
