Come on listen to a story 'bout a boy named Chip.

in From PlainJaneMom.com

I let Chip choose dinner a couple of nights ago, and of course he chose chicken nuggets. Fine with me — nuke ‘em and stick ‘em on a plate… that’s damn fine parenting.

But of course, he wanted them RIGHTNOWRIGHTNOWRIGHTNOW. Because he was HUNRY MOMMY! But you know what? Gourmet dinosaur chicken nuggets from Costco don’t come out of the freezer (key word: “freeze”) all nice and toasty warm. You and I know that, but 2 year olds? Not so much.

He’s dancing around my feet using every word he can think of to convey to me that he is mere seconds away from perishing from starvation. So what do I do? I think I’m so brilliant and smugly hand him a frozen nugget to demonstrate to him that they aren’t ready to eat yet.

The little booger ate the whole thing with a smile on his face. I’m pretty sure this is how a 2 year old tells you they think you’re an asshole ;)

Ha ha. That is one funny kid. Although what concerns me a bit is that eating frozen chicken nuggets doesn’t sound bad to me at all. Sort of tasty.

Oh, I am going to try this next time. M is in a phase where he demands food–NOW!!–and then half the time does not eat it, and then demands something else with equal intensity.

chickensicle, yum.

i think they’re pre-cooked…it’s not like they’re, you know, meat or anything dangerous. :)

i still eat my MIL’s muffins straight out of the freezer because i am too impatient to wait for them to thaw. Chip is clearly clever. frozen is delicious!

I tried that with my two year old and he sobbed “it’s too cold mommy, that’s berry, berry sad! I sad now” which pretty much amounts to him telling me he thinks I’m an asshole as well…

I sooo can see my daughter doing the same. Sort of a “right back at ya” kinda attitude! She too loves her nuggets.

So glad I wasn’t drinking anything when I read the last line. I’m pretty sure I would have sprayed it all over my monitor. As it was, I came thisclose to needing a kleenex! That was hilarious! And sooooo true!

Mine eat frozen nuggets all the time. They’re fully cooked, and honestly, why waste the two minutes? Think about how much time that 2 minute nuke time adds up to be, over a lifetime!

But seriously, “cold chickens” are my 4 yo’s go-to snack.
