Just amazing how many items are being affected/effectd.. Every week it is something new… Do not remember as many outbreaks as we have had as of late… from spinach to peanut butter to carrot juice…

I agree — and I have to hope that the increase in recalls is the result of better policing of the food supply. If I didn’t believe that I would have to move the family to a farm and produce all my own food!

The irony of it being organic baby food is kinda funny in a way…..

Produicing your own food might not even cure that…

[…] February 18th, 2007 I caught this over at Plain Jane Mom: The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is warning consumers not to use certain jars of Earth’s Best Organic 2 Apple Peach Barley Wholesome Breakfast baby food because of the risk of contamination with Clostridium botulinum, a bacterium which can cause botulism, a life-threatening illness or death. The food was distributed through retail stores and sold through the Earth’s Best website. If consumers have any of the specified jars in their home, they should not use it and destroy it immediately. i think it is wrong that this is happening and scary for our babies because nobody will know since it dosen’t smell or anything and eat it and they could die…

I fed this exact product to my daughter this morning! I happened to be looking for deals for their formula online and stumbled across the recall information. I am freaking out and earth’s best told me to throw out the product… no way! I am keeping it and they are going down if anything happens to her. They said they’d send me a few coupons to replace the jars – I read the news every day and I dont think they made this information available enough since I never saw it until now & by accident!

If you’re joking, this isn’t funny. If you’re serious, you need to reconsider. The recalled food can kill a child. Take the coupons.

no – I meant I am saving the food in case I need evidence. I thought it was weird that they insisted I throw it away. I am definitely taking the coupons. Sorry for the miscommunication.

I think they tell you to throw it away so it doesn’t accidentally get fed to a child. I’m glad I misunderstood!
