[Updated below]
When I shop, I prefer ‘Mom and Pop’ style businesses where I can meet the owners and feel a real connection with them. When I buy things online I like to patronize stores owned by the person who makes what I’m buying.
I figure I’m not the only one out there who feels this way, so I thought I’d start a directory of businesses owned by actual humans. If that describes you, please tell me about your biz using this form and I’ll add you to my directory. (I guess I’ll eventually have to come up with rules about sites I won’t link to, but for now it is pretty loose ;)
I can think of lots of you wonderful readers who have great businesses — you may sell on Etsy, maybe you’re a web designer, you’re an architect, you do construction, you’ve got an eBay shop, you sell funny shirts on Cafe Press, … whatever it is, just let me know.

I LOVE to shop at mom and pop shops and even bought my mom a Christmas gift off ETSY, it was my first purchase from there but I LOVED it and it was so easy to do! I’d be interested to hear of some of the great places you hear about through your blog too :)

I love your idea! Unfortunately, I can’t submit my business since I don’t actually make any of the items myself. I do however, sell lots of items that moms would love and could make their lives easier (secure online shopping & free shipping). I’ll check back to see if you open it up to Mom owned businesses.
P.S. Have you tried the LeapFrog computer games for Chip? Those keep my guys buzy for quite the while.
