If you're into Monty Pythonesque humour, there's always Little Britain, but it's not something to watch with the kiddies. ;) I'm a huge fan of House and Grey's Anatomy too, but I don't know if they'd go on your top 10 list... I get nightmares really easily, but not from Homicide. There's a lot of internal drama going on in the series. It's not nearly as graphic as CSI. It's more about getting in peoples' heads (psychologically.) Oh, and Firefly.
