Tania Edwards December 5, 2008 at 10:09 pm: I know everyone else is leaving a post saying how great it would be to win the gift card….and it would be and all but what I really want to say is OMG I hate Christmas shopping! Am I the only person left on the planet who thinks we should be in the giving spirit and be good to one another and peace on earth and all that stuff? I have yet to have someone hold the door for me, let me out in front of them in a crowded parking lot or even wish me a good day (that wasn’t paid to do so) this season, anyone else? I really miss being a child and not seeing all the craziness….you know, just the “we wish you a merry christmas” mentality. I just want so desperately to scream out “It’s Christmastime people…I’m broke and behind on every bill I have but I took my neighbor who is facing eviction to the local ministry to get emergency aid and then took her to have her hair done just to make her feel better. Stop the insane selfishness and go do something nice for someone else…your cup will never spill over unless you are willing to offer someone else a drink!

Anyway, maybe sometime somewhere we will meet, you’ll know me when you see me, I’ll be the lady smiling and waving you on ahead of me…..or the cool chick in front of you in line that gives you the gift card I just used that still has $$$ on it….. or the fellow mom who sees your struggle to make it to your car with 50 bags of holiday cheer and three kids that hate Christmas shopping more than you and I will be there to carry some of your crap this season.

Yup, that about covers it….MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
