A lovely travelogue.

I see gold lamé in someone’s future!

But once the pain has passed into a dull ache, you realize you need mementos of that time.

I have no desire to “Meet the Robinsons” because one of their PR folks spammed me all the time about the movie, but this is a much more compelling reason not to see it. If true, whether you have adopted any of your kids or not, this is not a family movie.

Our family went and saw this movie this weekend (I hadn’t seen a preview and knew nothing about it).

I thought it was a very good, touching movie. The morale of the story is to “keep moving forward.” As with all Dinsey movies, you have to wait until the end to have everything work out.

Yes, the movie shows this 12-yr old boy getting rejected from families that have their own idea of the perfect child. But in the end, he finds the perfect family for him. A family that loves him and accepts him for all his quirks.

I don’t see how that can be bad?

Yeah, that’s why I say “if true”… Not having seen it myself I don’t have an opinion one way or another yet.

Since it is a rare G-rated movie I might get it on NetFlix to watch myself before showing to the kids. I usually jump at every G movie that comes out, but movies that screw up adoption stories really make me mad :)

My father took Viv to see it, and being an adoptive parent, he had nothing negative to say. He said it was enjoyable, but not much else.

Sometimes people are a bit sensitive, and that may be the case here, but I haven’t see it yet. Being adopted, I don’t get very excited about stuff, so we’ll see. That email seemed rather inflammatory to me, all things considered…

I’m glad to hear it! I hate it when there is stuff for me to get pissed off about :)
