Little ears hear all, even when you're trying to be good. So why bother?

Mike just impatiently said to my mom, “Let’s open the flipping door!!!” It just doesn’t sound right coming out of my kid’s mouth, so my quest to find a replacement for the f-word continues…

How about funkin? No, that’s too close to the real thing and a serious threat to actually bringing the f word back. Um … Thinking cap malfunctioning … Frack is old hat. Again, a threat to coming close to saying fuck. How about foreign language swears? You can locate sanitized swear winners like “arse-biscuits” over at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fictional_curse_words

Sorry to be such a know it all Nelly … but it was easy and fun to get carried away on this. Good luck.

We saw a really awful movie where they dubbed in jumping, like,”abso-jumping-lutely”…my kids didn’t even know what they were replacing, but they thought it was hysterical.

Because I was so apt to repeat nasty words to people when I was little, I immediately eliminated any inappropriate words from my vocabulary the second my kids were born. You don’t quiet realize the things that come out of your mouth until your children repeat them back to you.

Just to be clear, Mike really did say “flipping”. He did NOT tell my mom to “open the fucking door.” Phew.

I have cleaned up my language, but there are just times when I need SOMETHING to say.

Here’s what I want to say:

“I have asked you 100 times to put on your pants. Now PUT ON YOUR FUCKING PANTS!”

So every day I don’t say that is a gift :)

Ah, yes. I just said the F word in front of my children just moments ago. Me powerful good mommy.
