Don't you love those word-whammer things? We have the one you show above, along with the single letter Fridge Phonics set AND the lowercase letters.recentl

The kiddos love them! And my Girlie just y 'clicked' on the reading thing as well, and is discovering all the things in the world that have opened up to her now that she is reading. Signs on stores, the intros to her favorite TV shows...it's a whole new world!! Kitty Litter has never been so exciting!

Three Cheers for Mike! (And a big cheers to Mom, too!!)

Those Leap magnetic letter toys are great. The 2 year old plays with it constantly and the 4 yr old likes to join in from time to time and start playing with words. We have all sorts of 'press the letter on the toy to make the sounds and hear what it is' toys, but the Leap (we have the single letter one) gets used all the time. We have a bus with letters on the side that got used a lot too, but that was before the talking letters on the fridge. Too cool that they have lower case letter for it now. May have to grab some of those.

Oh, awesome! My daughter did that too, just realized one day she can read. It was the same with me. Funny how that works.

Oh, wow. I remember how THRILLED I was when Really Rosie had the "I can read" epiphany. I am a big reader myself, so it was kind of like a bonus - kid I love, kid I love that loves to read just like me - YES!

I think having kids that love to read is so cool.
