Wow, I'm not sure I could handle things like this. I think my nerves would always be on edge. Do most people love CA so much that they don't mind dealing with the occasional earthquake and fire? I've had several friends move from CA but many of them moved due to crowding issues. It must be a different kind of world way out there.

Glad you and your family are ok.

One thing I'm not missing about living on the east coast. Granted now I worry about hurricanes and tornadoes. Hope nothing broke.

Never experienced an earthquake. I don't think I'd relish it.

I can barely handle tornados...

I don;t know, I think your husband might have been onto something. I remember having earthquake saftey training when I was a kid in California and the three tips I remember were: 1) Take cover in a doorway 2) Fill a bathtub with fresh water 3) Pick up a large knife.

Now that I think about it, a couple of those might have been what to do if there's a zombie invasion.

Happy Halloween!

My favorite part of it? That we now have a heightened risk on the Hayward fault for the next 24 hours or so. Better check my earthquake insurance again!

we felt it here in manteca too. the "natives" are freaked out. the BATS (bay area transfers) are just shrugging at the little bit of rolling. it was near alum rock area in san jose and "only 5.7 according to the local news.

hope nothing broke in your neck of the woods.
