So that Idi Amin, not such a nice guy. But Forrest Whittaker? He's got him down.

Last night we saw The Last King of Scotland which was not at all the movie I thought it was going to be. I was prepared for a full-on assault of horrible atrocities, sadness, and a dying country but this movie was a smaller story about the people around Idi Amin. I liked it a lot even though I went into it thinking I was going to hate it.

Before the flick we stopped for a beer – yum, a Black and Tan… so not South Beach! Then at the movie we had ICE CREAM. Afterwards we had another Black and Tan and a couple of appetizers. I’m starting to feel like I have a life that is separate from my kids again, and that is definitely a good thing.

I have to thank my mom for a lot of this. She’s subsidizing the babysitting cost, and without that we’d never be able to justify it. Thanks Mom!
