Are you looking for a romantic movie but aren’t in the mood for standard chick flick crap? Are you starting to believe that all romantic movies have Hugh Grant and fluff story lines? If you watched another movie starring Meg Ryan would your eyeballs pop right out of their sockets?

Never fear, for this week’s “Stick It In Your Queue” I’m featuring one of the finest romantic movies ever. Before Sunrise is from 1995 and stars Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy.

I saw this movie on a date with Mr. Plain when it was first released and it was so incredibly moving. Yes, it is a movie about emotions, life, and love, but it is not just for the ladies. Mr. Plain loved this movie as much as I did.

a classic story

Young strangers meet one evening on a train in Europe. It is his last night before he must go home and he convinces this intriguing, shy woman to get off the train and spend time with him in Vienna.

They spend the whole night walking through the city and talking. The entire movie is full of smart, genuine dialog and gorgeous cinematography. These two people learn more about each other in one night than most do in months, but they both know that in the morning he has to catch a flight back home.

I’m not going to spoil any of the wonderful story by telling you more, so rent this one and let me know if it affected you the way it did me.
