My kids are getting big for their Britax Marathon car seats, and I’m still thinking about that video advising against standard booster seats. I know that there’s that Britax Regent which is a 5-point car seat for big kids, but do any of you have the Safeguard Booster?
Here’s the description of it:
The SafeGuard Go® is the first ever “hybrid” car seat, blending the safety of a 5-point harness with the portability of a backless booster. With versatility and portability like no other seat on the market, it is freedom at last for busy families. Lightweight and compact, the SafeGuard Go features a one-of-a-kind, flexible back, allowing the seat to fold easily away when not in use and fit into the convenient travel bag (included), making it a breeze to store, carry, or travel anywhere, even on a plane.
SAFETY FEATURES
Because it is made by SafeGuard, parents can rest assured that the SafeGuard Go has undergone the most thorough testing in the industry. In fact, the SafeGuard Go far surpasses all government safety standards and lets parents protect their children with a 5-point harness all the way up to 60lbs. And for children above 60 pounds, the SafeGuard Go easily converts to the first ever LATCH-equipped, belt-positioning booster.
I like that it is a LATCH booster, but the whole thing just seems maybe too new. Maybe not-ready-for-prime-time? I’m probably going to end up getting some Regents, but do any of you have this seat? It has so many options that my eyes have glazed over and I’m more confused than when I started.
