What rocket scientist at Google Reader decided that 'mark all as read' needed a keyboard shortcut??

I’m happily reading my feeds and I’m down to about 100 posts left when the puppy jumps on my lap. She scrambles around, gets her paws on my keyboard, and all of a sudden Google Reader happily pronounces that I have no more unread feeds.

What the hell?

I love Google Reader with a passion, and I’d never be able to do my GRIT posts without it, but this really, really sucks. And you know how most Googly things you do have an ‘Undo’? Well not this one. So I’m screwed.

What does this mean for you?

Did you write something I need to read in the last 12 hours or so? Please leave a link to it in this post. I would hate to miss something great, funny, or important, so hook me up.

And I hope some engineer at Google is wondering why s/he is suddenly feeling despised.

Yeah…that sucks. But oh well…now you’re caught up!

Have you also noticed that the reader is slow to pick up feeds? I always get things many, many hours after they’ve been posted. Or is it just me?

I’m still not giving up the reader.;)

I too get some things hours after they’ve been posted. Don’t know if I’m in your reader or not, but you really need to know about the orange spider (http://jaycee.typepad.com/semantics/2007/05/orange_spider.html)

My kiddo did that to me once. There is an undo! Sort of. You can switch from ‘Unread’ to ‘All items’ at the top of the page. If you were reading in chronological order, the top ones are your unreads. If not, you’ll have to guess a little.

Maybe the cat pressed on the time-machine button?

Luckily, I wasn’t on your Google Reader AND even if I were it wasn’t meaningful. I wrote a post about chicken nuggets. (I bet I got you interested now). My earlier post was meaningful but who’s got time to scroll nowadays.

I read this post as I’m literally installing google reader on my blog. Hmmmm, I’m thinking twice about it now.

Don’t think twice — GR is great. Just don’t type shift-a while in the ‘all items’ view…

I’ve done that to myself. I feel your pain.

I tried GR once and went back to Bloglines, which, by the way, displays Queen of Spain’s feed without fail. I have no idea why GR doesn’t.

I just wrote about sex in a thinky kinda way, if you’re interested.

That totally sounds like I’m offering you sex…ha ha.

Is that where our weekend GRIT went?

You know I don’t know how to get through the day without it.
