What's next? A combination rave and proctological exam? Star-gazing and a pap smear?

I finally got around to scheduling an eye exam so I can replace my horribly scratched lenses, and I decided to get all tricky and use the online appointment request service on the clinic’s web site.

I filled it all out in the morning (plus another one for a baseline mammogram because I’m old) and clicked the ‘Submit’ button with the smug satisfaction of someone who has finally gotten something done. Until later in the day when I got my appointment schedule in email.

April 23rd. At 7am.

The hell? How in the world are they even open that early? Not to mention that I’m still in a walking coma at that hour. Oh, and the small matter of the kids’ school not opening until 7:30.

Am I crazy? Why would they put me in at 7am without asking first? And more to the point, should I now be preparing to have the mammogram at 1:30 on a Saturday night?

That’s frustrating! At least you were trying to be organized. Hope the mammogram time is more convenient.

The only morning my dr. works is Wed. I need morning appts so I can go in and if they need to check my nether regions my six year old isn’t scarred for life for having to sit there and witness it. I figure two year old won’t have that memory (at least hoping). Anyway, the only time I can ever get in is at 7 on Wed. You know it was dang hard to start getting up that early BUT I now know that is one day of the week I DO NOT have to dress kid for school or drive him there, that dad has to pick up the slack just that ONE hour…and sometimes I stop at Starbucks on the way home and say they were slow seeing me. It won’t be so bad. Hope the mammogram is at a better time though.

I went to a dentist at 8 pm. On a SATURDAY morning. It was a 30-40 minute subway ride to get there to boot. Yes, I was desperate. No, I don’t think I’ll ever be that desperate again. Or at least i hope not.
