BlogHer 2009 will be in …

Chicago!

But unlike 2 years ago, the conference will be all in one venue. No more shuttles, wasting time walking for blocks to get to events. Everything will be happening at the Chicago Sheraton & Towers.

Read the announcement post to hear why it isn’t happening in any of the cities people voted for. The short version is that logistically it just couldn’t work out.

The most interesting part to me is that the BlogHer Business conference will be July 23, and the regular BlogHer conference will be July 24-25. This is great news for me as I’ve always considered going to BlogHer Business, but I couldn’t justify the added expense. Now that they’re combined, I really have almost no reason not to go. Smart move.

See you there July 23 -25, 2009 :)

Chicago’s a four hour drive for me, but totally doable.

okay, now *this* is tempting. and possibly possible. Too far to drive (21 hours) but a plane ticket from eastern Canada might be doable since it’s closer than the west coast.

I’ve already blocked the dates out in my diary…and from where I’m coming from, that means I’m serious!!

How did I not notice that BlogHer business was the day before? I guess that’s what I get for scanning the release. I guess I don’t have an excuse not to attend either, eh?

I’m so excited! Can’t wait to see you there. Maybe we can find a corner at one of this year’s parties and have wine delivered to us. ;-)

I’m very excited that BlogHer Business is right before “regular BlogHer.” This will be my first time attending the Business conference (and my fifth BlogHer!)

Hmmm. Chicago is drivable from the Twin Cities. I would be very afraid if I were you. I’m MUCH creepier in person!

Can you tell me what exactly IS Blogher Business that is different from the other part of the conference? And, do you know if they are having that “day after blogher”as they did in SF? I went to that not knowing what it was and was surprised to see it was a 1 room, scaled-down bunch of “little” meetings that you went to based on what was written on a white board that morning. I actually learned a lot but I will never go again to a conference without clarifying all the days thoroughly. Especially since this year, I will be paying for travel expenses on top of hotel expenses. I like to make sure my stay is productive after all!
