The Toddler Manifesto. Even if I find it annoying to live with, it is nice to see him sticking up for himself. (And I heart hyphens.)

This morning I politely told Chip to stop poking every button on the TiVO. Silly me, I should have known better. His response was accompanied by a dismissive hand-gesture, a pissed-off foot-stomp, a chimp-like chest-thump, and the use of his awesome self-given nickname. “NO MOMMY, I CHEDDA!” My mistake. I must have missed that memo.

I’m laughing so hard I’m trying not to fall out of my chair.

    Thanks!

You know how “they” say that in such a situation you’re supposed to put on your serious face, and tell them no?

Here’s what we did: Mr. Plain and I laughed so hard we cried. And couldn’t see or breathe. So, I suspect we’ll be hearing this phrase for a while since it got such a good reaction the first time he brought it out!

“I Chip” – I think I’m going to start saying that in my house.

Seriously, you should have known that already! I chip is excuse enough to do whatever he wants!

    Love it!

Yeah, and I changed the post to reflect what he really calls himself: Chedda.

Mrs. F, I think all toddlers know each other and have some sort of secret communication system to pass along great techniques to drive parents crazy!

Izzy, I do too. I was laughing way too hard to perform any complex motor functions, though.

Robin, I almost had to go to the hospital myself!

NtycnBoricua (so glad I know what your username means now!), toddlers sure think that way!

Jessica, thanks for being the ‘push’ I needed to change this post to reflect what he really said. I don’t really care if it lets people figure out what his real name is ;)
